Introduction to Some Amazing Blues Guitarists

New to Aerosmith Logo blues? Interested in exploring some of the greats? Here's Folk Songs great list with a little commentary to get you started.

My list of amazing blues guitarists... (keep in Doc Watson Blues Guitar Chords And Accompaniment the numbers do I Like To Move It Move It represent my ranking.)

1. B.B. King What more can be said about his man. He is the living breathing personification of the blues, and a living breathing legend. He understands what so many young guitarists never understand; the blues is NOT about how fast you can play. It is about the feelings that you express. He is King of this! I saw him play live in Indianapolis. He had a couple of young guns there with him. Every time it was his turn to take a solo he would just play the sweetest most melodic things you could ever imagine. The young guys would rip out as many notes as possible. B.B. didn't care. He could feel that he was making the connection with the crowd. (He was over 80 years old at this show by the way!)

2. Buddy Guy He personally introduced me to the blues. What a guitarist! What a showman! John Mayer has said that Buddy Guy was "psychedelic before anyone knew what psychedelic was." I have only Eric Clapton 1990 02 10 London Buddy Guy perform on DVD, but I could feel his stage presence through the screen. On top of this he has amazing technique. Try to get a recording of him How To Play Guitar Blues Guitar Lesson Sweet Home Chicago.

3. Eric Clapton Not personally one of my favorites, but you cannot deny his influence. He is one of the single most important blues guitarists ever. Little Rock Jams Spring Workshop Schedule would have guessed anyone would have ever said that about a white English guy? Although he has many rock albums out with several different bands, he is a blues man through and through. He Threadbo Blues Festival 2008 Performer Profiles B.B. King as one of his greatest influences.

4. John Mayer Surprised? Yep, this is still the blues list. Anyone who says that John Mayer is just a sissy boy singer/songwriter, just check out his SRV rendition on his DVD. This guy can play some amazing and soulful blues!

5. Stevie Ray Vaughn Basically Stevie Ray Vaughn took what Jimmy Hendrix did and made it faster, louder, and cleaner. Arguably the most talented technical blues guitarist ever. Do your best to get a copy of him playing Little Wing, Texas Flood, of Pride 'n Joy. He died tragically in a plane accident. Rest in peace SRV.

6. Jimmy Hendrix Although Jimmy would mostly be categorized as rock, he was a blues man to the bone. You cannot deny his roots. If you consider the heart of the blues to be expressing emotion through the instrument (I do!), Jimmy is undeniably the king.
